Projects
On this page I’ve decided to add all my projects: completed ones, work in progress, and draft ideas. It's an overview of everything that is currently... cooking in the pot!
Even though most of my websites are in Italian, if you're browsing from outside Italy and have ideas, feedback, or simply want to chat about developing them further, you can find my email at the bottom of the page.
NEOCITIES PROJECTS
DarkMiryam – My main website. Here I showcase my Neocities projects and collect a mix of things that wouldn't fit anywhere else.
La Soffitta delle Fate – A recovery corner for old web graphics, rescued from abandoned sites or via the Wayback Machine, with a special focus on fairy, witchy, and goth themes.
Avalon Webring – A Webring dedicated to Italian-language Neo-pagan websites that do NOT use generative AI.
Monoblokko – The website dedicated to one of my bands, Monoblokko! We mostly play Irish Punk. (Currently work in progress: I’m waiting for the two founders to send me photos and a bio! :D)
BLOGSPOT PROJECTS
Figlia di Avalon, Figlia della Luna – Originally started as a pagan journal, over time it evolved into my personal commonplace book where I merged content from my older, now-defunct blogs. I write about Neo-pagan spirituality, literature, vintage culture, and stories of historical women whom I love to call "modern witches".
Italia Parallela – Online since 2007, it's my longest-running creation and the one closest to my heart. Started as a forum and later turned into a blog, it's dedicated to Italian legends, mysteries, and folklore. I’m currently working on a small side-project tied to the main site, gathering local stories, legends, and info rescued from now-extinct Italian municipality websites.
WORDPRESS AND ALTERVISTA PROJECTS
Oltre le Nebbie – My online Book of Shadows. I gather public notes and thoughts: herbalism, deep dives on deities, and celebrations of the Wheel of the Year.
Il Baule della Strega – This is the site where my love for web archaeology began. Here I collect poems, old posts, documents, and tales related to paganism, witchcraft, folk fairy tales, and folklore saved and recovered from old sites found on the Wayback Machine. A project started three years ago that keeps giving me endless joy and satisfaction.
Nota sul Diario – A journey through music, from the dawn of time up to the early 2000s: thoughts, short reviews, trivia, old charts, diary entries, and memories of past live concerts.
The Last Wave - While "Nota sul Diario" covers music up to the early 2000s, "Last Wave" focuses on modern music. It also features interviews and unreleased material from contemporary writers and artists.
SUBSTACK, YOUTUBE, AND MORE
Figlia di Avalon (Substack) – Home for my newsletters. Here I publish "Oltre le Nebbie" (focused on the topics from Oltre le Nebbie and Figlia di Avalon, Figlia della Luna) as well as a music newsletter tied to my projects.
DarkMiryam81 (YouTube) – The channel where you can listen to my music.
IDEAS AND WORK IN PROGRESS
I have so many ideas I’d love to develop online. If anyone feels like brainstorming or lending a hand, here’s what’s on my mind:
Artists & Musicians Repository / Webring: A cross between a webring and a thematic directory (divided by genres) linking strictly to personal websites (no social networks!). Need to figure out capacity management and potential multilingual setups.
Folklore Archive: A website to recover old articles from the Wayback Machine about history and legends of Sardinia (my ancestors' land) and Ferrara (the area where I live), although I’ve found less material regarding Ferrara so far than I had hoped.
Penpalling & Mail Art Site: An informative portal about the history of letter-writing and mail art. I’m considering whether to open a classifieds inbox for pen pal requests (starting via email, then moving to physical snail mail).
"Italian Gothic People" Archive: I’d love to bring back key posts, reviews, and discussions from the Facebook group "Italian Gothic People" (where I was a founding member and staff). The group is now inactive and Facebook makes retrieving old content almost impossible, but there was fantastic musical and cultural material that deserves not to be lost.
'90s / Early 2000s Girlbands & Boybands: A site written entirely in English (a monumental task!) dedicated to the history of pop bands from that decade. Looking for fellow enthusiasts to help co-write bios!
OFFLINE PROJECTS
Things taking shape solely on notebooks and paper for now:
Music Dictionary (Completed): A handwritten dictionary containing terms related to opera and chamber music.
1920s "Radiocorriere" Archive: I found vintage issues of the historic Italian broadcast magazine "Radiocorriere" online, and I’m taking physical notes on:
1) All names of 1920s singers and musicians (to write mini-bios for each).
2) The history of early Italian radio shows. I’ve currently paused around 1925–1926 because I came across a treasure trove of material about the children’s radio show "Il cantuccio dei bambini", which I’ll be posting about online very soon since I'm loving it!
CONTACTS & IDEAS
I’ll keep this page regularly updated.
